Dance is a phenomenon that holds people together.
In a country like India, made up of a diverse section of people, dance becomes a rich and varying entity that can be found across its length and breadth, uniting people and its corners. It's an art to express oneself freely and being able to converse through its unique expressions and hand movements.
India is said to have 8 classical dance forms- Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Kathakali, Mohiniattam, Manipuri, Kuchipudi and Sattriya. Apart from that, it has a vast number of regional dance forms, each unique in their splendor.
Being a country that absorbs easily and quickly, India also has a budding culture of dances found across the globe- Latin, hip-hop, belly- dancing etc., and has found its own vocabulary for contemporary dance.
Not to be left behind, of course, is the unique phenomenon that stems from this country and has become its marker the world over- Bollywood dance!
We, here at WorthITT, are keen on walking everyone through some of its dance forms so that the audience will be able to absorb the peculiarity of each of its distinct nuances .Also, we want the world to appreciate the massiveness and richness India brings in its diverse dance forms.
We are building a portal for the artists to showcase their talent to the world. It's a platform for an artist as well as talent scouts to collaborate and open up new avenues for themselves.
WorthITT in collaboration with some of the bright Indian writers , would be coming up with articles to talk on these dance forms in a gripping way.
